(what you) bring to the table

  • Slip Gallery 2301 1st Avenue Seattle, WA, 98121 United States (map)

Coming September 13 - October 5 to Slip Gallery is a group show which investigates what the artists and their community bring to the table, figuratively and literally. Artists across mediums and disciplines will display food-themed artworks that explore topics like basic needs, relationships, memories, value, and expectations. Through mediums like glass, video, collage, painting, and thread, as well as several collaborative and interactive works, the artists create an atmosphere that mimics the exchange of meals and the community that surrounds it. Curated by Alaina Stocker.

Join us for the following events during this exhibit:

Still-life tableau co-create evening, September 28th from 6-9pm

Join us for a co-create art event where the artists will gather a table full of objects and foodstuff and invite people to make art out of it all together in the gallery space. You will be encouraged to draw or paint in observation, utilize the objects themselves in sculpture, take photos, or anything else that provides inspiration.

Closing party potluck, October 5th from 6-9pm

Join us for a classic potluck, with the artists feeding their community with creative interpretations of shared food. RSVP to reserve your spot. We will check names at the door.
