Gallery Open Hours: Thursdays and Fridays from 1-6, Saturdays from 1-5.
This exhibition features the four corners of Black American culture. The South, East Coast, Mid-West and the West Coast. All have a root derivative, but the migration over time forced all to create their own cultures dependent on geographic location. This exhibit is an homage to the work of our ancestors; showing that Black culture, American culture is African American culture. Through the differences all of these four corners connect in the end under the desire and necessity to create family and tradition wherever we are. This group exhibition houses 10-15 African American artists; these artists take us on a journey through time and shared experience. The goal of this exhibit is to be an educational conversation that can bridge the gap in the misunderstandings that surround African Americans within our country as well as the Diaspora. This is a curatorial love letter to the creeks that were waded and the concrete that was laid by our resilient forbearers.
